Sinds de dagen van Lao Zi is er een goede vijfentwintighonderd keer de lente losgebarsten. Vele malen werd er een eerste stap gezet om een lange reis aan te vangen. Ontelbare eikeltjes ontkiemden en eiken groeiden gestaag en trots, tot ze niet meer te omvatten waren. De gewoonste zaak van de wereld, zou je zeggen, totdat je op je knieën, met je vingers het oude blad opzij schuift, en, als voor het eerst, het wonder van onkiemen ..
